We have just started - July 2010.  This is a new site replacing the old Dargaville.co.nz that has served our community for over a decade.  Our sincere gratitude to those who have contributed over the years.

Joining our team

 

We are looking for keen volunteers to help keep this site vibrant and fresh.  Especially in ensuring the content is up to date and relevant to our community.  If you have some time to help contribute to the site, we would only be too pleased to hear from you.  Our requirements are a willingness

  • to work with others
  • respect different ideas
  • contribute to our community
  • learn some new skills
  • share your skills

it would be very helpful if you had

  • a specific idea that you would like to implement that would benefit the community
  • special skills or services you could offer in helping the team improve the site or the team itself.

For example

  • If you love hiking and would like to document all walking tracks around the area.
  • You have a video camera and would like to help film aspects of the community or area and place on youtube and allow our site to feature these on the site.
  • Are a community or service group that would like to promote itself and raise it's profile in the community i.e. St Johns or the scouts seeking leaders.
  • You are organizing a special event for the community and want greater exposure and involvement.

What NOT to worry about

  • if you don't think you have a right skills
  • you find it difficult to make the first contact
  • you're not sure how you can help

None of these are an issue.  We are a friendly group that is very happy to help anyone who wants to make a contribution.  It is every member of the teams responsibility to help, encourage and train any other member of the team.
